On more than one occasion when my kids were little, I found myself running out at the last minute to buy a gift for a birthday party, only to get home and realize that I forgot wrapping paper.
The solution to this dilemma is easy, right? Stock up on wrapping paper for every occasion! Birthday paper, boy paper, girl paper, wedding paper, graduation paper. Baby paper….Anniversary paper….Over the Hill paper….

This solution is too complicated for me. And expensive.
cheap meclizine medication I am all about making things as easy as possible. And I’m cheap. But I still like things to look nice.
So, for the last decade or so, my solution has been a simple, inexpensive one. And it works.
I am talking about Kraft paper and ribbon.
I keep a couple of rolls of Kraft paper in the house at all times. And I stock up on ribbon whenever I see a sale or a clearance bin. Hobby Lobby has ribbon at half price pretty frequently; it’s not hard to find cheap prices out there when it comes to almost any kind of decorative ribbon..
Those are the only two ingredients that you need to wrap the perfect gift for any occasion.
And, bonus, not only is it simple, it looks really good! It honestly makes your gifts look more thoughtful, I tell you. Check it out. For the purposes of this post, I used the same box, and I only tied a regular old bow–just like a sneaker bow. Nothing fancy here. Mainly because I am not good at making fancy bows. But also to illustrate how good even the simplest bow can look.
You can really use whatever kind of ribbon you want.
This one has two kinds of ribbon–Mesh and curling ribbon.
You get the gist! I love any idea that is easier and cheaper than the regular way of doing things. This idea is not only BOTH, but it is ALSO a lot better looking than the regular, store-bought-gift-wrap way! What more could you ask for? This is all 3 sides of the triangle, people: Easy, Cheap, and Nice.
Of course you can knock it out of the park with a great bow and a tag and some add-ons (I’ll get into that later!), but I think the awesome simplicity of Kraft paper and a sneaker bow made out of ribbon is perfect for just about any occasion!
Did you forget a card? No problem! Sometimes I just write “To:/From:” right on the package.
Before any event, you will still find me scrambling around at the last minute buying a gift, hunting for scissors and tape, and trying to make myself presentable. BUT…you won’t see me trying to fashion gift wrap out of scrapbook paper or comic strips. Because at least one part of my life is completely squared away!
